In the last week or two, Battle Town Council have been asking local residents, who are willing and able, to come forward in a pledge to help those in need. The aim of this call-out was to build a team of volunteers who would be on hand to help in a number of ways including; helping with shopping, collecting medicines and even providing a friendly voice at the end of the phone.

To our amazement, the response has been outstanding with 92 individuals, and increasing daily, putting themselves forward to help in these difficult times. We understand that not everybody in the area has access to the internet, and so our wonderful team of volunteers have already carried out the hugely important task of hand-delivering our leaflet through the doors of most households within the Battle Civic Parish.

We are incredibly warmed by the response so far and hope to be able to continue providing assistance to those members of our community who really need it.

A fantastic example of Battle really coming together as one.

Thank you.
