Battle and District Historical Society has Hugh Willing to talk about the Allied Assault on Normandy on Thursday 6 June 2019, the exact 75th anniversary. The talk starts at 7.30 pm in the Main Hall of Battle Memorial Hall. Admission £4 for non members of the Society, refundable if you join. 

Hugh Willing joined the British Army in 1971 and commanded the First Battalion the Royal Green Jackets in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Among his foreign postings were Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Cyprus and Oman where he was Defence Attaché in the British Embassy. Since his retirement from the Army, he has been a well-known and popular lecturer on a wide range of issues with particular emphasis on Britain’s nautical and colonial legacies.
